Project Overview
A major international banking organisation engaged Joyce Solutions to support the transformation of an ageing Data Centre environment through infrastructure redesign, structured cabling installation and a full Data Centre migration programme.
The project initially involved the audit of approximately 180 devices and 900 connectivity links across 13 racks. Following a wider technology refresh and decommissioning programme, the final environment was redesigned into 12 newly commissioned racks housing approximately 117 production devices.
The Challenge
The scale of the environment, combined with the complexity of the existing connectivity, required a detailed understanding of both the current and future-state infrastructure.
Multiple stakeholders and support providers were involved throughout the programme, making accurate planning, documentation and coordination essential to a successful migration.
Our Solution
Joyce Solutions completed a full hardware and connectivity audit before working alongside the client’s technical teams to design the future-state environment.
We designed and installed a complete Leviton UHDX structured cabling solution incorporating OM4, OS2 and Cat 6A infrastructure, delivering approximately 900 structured connections throughout the new environment.
All racks were fully pre-cabled and tested ahead of migration weekend, enabling rapid deployment and reducing risk during the live relocation phase.
The migration was successfully delivered over a single weekend, with our engineers working alongside the client’s wider support teams to coordinate activities and support service validation.
Results
• 180 devices and 900 connections fully audited
