OVERVIEW
A major financial services firm needed to relocate 200 desktop IT positions to a new London office, including the deployment of an additional 114 trader desk positions. Additionally, we also relocated 50U of rack-mounted IT equipment from their existing comms room to the new office.
SCOPE OF WORK
New hardware deployment
- Moving equipment from loading bay to office floors
- Equipment unpacking and physical inspection
- Deployed 114 trader desk positions within multiple monitors
- Installation of accessories and cable dressing
Relocation – Desktop IT
- Equipment Labelling
- Disconnection & decommission of 200 x desktop environments incl. accessories and removal of monitors from monitor arms
- Full packing using specialist flight cases and specialist anti-static packaging materials
- Physical IT Relocation from old office to new office
- Reinstallation of docking stations and monitors to new monitor arms
- Reconnection of desktop accessories
Relocation – Comms room / server equipment
- Full hardware and cable trace audit incl. labelling
- Infrastructure design to support a new rack plan in the new comms room with fewer racks
- Pre-Cabling in the delivery racks to support a weekend migration
- IT relocation incl. de/re racking
- Cable reconnect and dress incl. reinstallation of migrated PRO cables
- Physical troubleshooting / power up support whilst the customer brought equipment online
